-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- The June 1996 meeting of the Linux Users of Victoria This month features Peter Warren talking about Linux backup methods : "Has your Linux system grown beyond the light hobby stage? Would the pain of restoring it extend significantly beyond reinstalling from the distribution CD and tweaking a handful of config files? Been lucky so far? Or have you just continually put off what appears to be a dull, boring (and expensive) aspect of running a computer system? Well, then this talk's for you. This talk will cover backup strategies for Linux systems. This will include a comparison of locally available hardware, and an appraisal of traditional and not so traditional backup methods. This is essentially a case study of what I found after (finally) deciding to put a decent backup strategy in place for my own systems." **WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING** We're back at MLC this month, but in a different location - if you didn't pick up a map at last week's meeting, I can fax it to you if you call me on 014 856 122. In any case, it's on the 3rd floor of the Centenary Building. **WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING** * When : Tuesday June 4th, at 7pm * Where : 3rd floor of the Centenary Building, Methodist Ladies' College in Kew (corner of Glenferrie and Barkers Roads) * What : Linux backup methods See you there, Andrew. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.3i Charset: noconv Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.4, an Emacs/PGP interface iQCVAwUBMa0iAKSeshTHvVP1AQEZ+gP8DJenuihdDK5rJ3E19XsPWuwmAulmHk/T eJUaqmCVtB06MaIa/Kui9CBGZWIeK1vyigchHTI6qAelgpdrD9slql0Knt71OLvz DcJ8kMV4pf4gqy0N4oWLP/+Og6iObHWBMmUDoo2EIC2zGxQdz2p9DT4NfbfeLv4C dm+JSy0vpMU= =4IyM -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- - Andrew J Cosgriff - ajc@bing.wattle.id.au - Mobile : +61-14-856-122 SysAdmin / Support Dude, UNICO Computer Systems PGP & MIME ok and preferred OVER the underpass!
