I have a PCi box with Adaptec 2940 SCSI and 3c590 ethernet runnign kernel 1.3.60 (as that was available and had the support) I wish to export a filesystem, and so have set it up in /etc/exports. I can mount it using mount localhost:/usr/cm /mnt and mount hostname:/usr/cm /mnt But as soon as another machine on the net tries, the mountd daemon dies. Nothing comes up in /var/log/messages. the mahcine trying to mount the filesystem gives: rpc mount: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection reset by peer I'm using the secure wrappers, and have ALL:ALL in hosts.allow. I can telnet into the machine OK. Any clues as to why mountd might be dying, and what I can try to keep it up? Is it a kernel bug or something? should I be on another kernel? (if so, which one has both Adaptec 2490 and 3c590 support?) Zebee
