RedHat and later drivers

Here I am, with a nice new RedHat CD and a problem.

The box I want to install it on has an Adaptec 2490
SCSI and 3Com 3c590 ethernet card.

The CDROM has a 2490 kernel, but no 3590 support.

What are my options?

The Slackware disk doesn't seem to support this card
either, at least not in the install stuff.

I have to get the networking working immediately rather than
starting off with getting it running and compiling a new
kernel because I have no SCSI CDROM, so I have to
install over the network.

Am I out of luck? Will I have to mug someone for their
CDROM?

Supposing I manage to go home, get a kernel to compile
(which it refuses to do on the slackware 1.1.13 systems at work)
what do I copy to the Red Hat boot disk? the zImage made
on a floppy via the kernel compilation source?

Zebee
