Greetings,

Well, I'm on the linux installation warpath at the moment, and have
	encountered a few hastles.

Here's some hardware/software data which may assist:

		386 Clone
1 IDE Drive (200 odd Meg)
		1 SCSI Drive (300ish Meg)
		4 Megs RAM
		slackware V3 using loadlinx
		'scsi' boot disk
		'color' root disk
		Future Domain TMC-860 SCSI Card

Ok, for some reason, when I try and format any Cyl after 1206 (out
of 1243 cyl) on the SCSI (either by setting this region up as a swap
or normal partition) I get a mass of:

Raw sense data: 0x70 0x00 0x05 0x00 0x09 0xf0 0xa3 0x1c 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00
0x21 0x00 0x00 0x00
scsidisk I/O error dev 0803, sector XXX

	(Repeated LOTS)...

SCSI Cabling seems fine, The Drive works with DOS, No SCSI errors
on the drive, Correct base address and IRQ settings on card and
	in Linux....

If that was all, I would probably just ignore the last 30 or so
sectors, and run linux on the 300 Meg remaining... However, I ALSO
	get:

Kernel panic: scsi: unsupported message byte 128 received.

afer trying to format a decent sized partition within the 1-1206cyl
	range.

Suggestions anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Leigh.
