In article <4mjhfl$obj@hobyah.cc.uq.oz.au>, he@physics.uq.oz.au says... > >Hi, > >Netscape has killed my pc running linux 1.3.20 for several times already. When it happened, >everything was simply freezed. No reactions at all from the keyboard and the mouse. > >Has someone also got this problem? Any solutions? > I have had similar problems, but under the latest release Kernel. I found that the problems happen less if you switch the caching off in Netscape (Hard drive cache set to 0Kb). What config have you got? Perhaps there are similarities. Ive got a machine with a QLogic PCI Fast! SCSI card, and an Imagine 128 Video card. Seagate Barracuda drives (ST32550W) + Quantum Empire 1080 (not used by Linux, but on the same chain) rhys >Hao > >------------------------------------------------------ >Department of Physics Tel: +61-7-33782897 >The University of Queensland Fax: +61-7-33651242 >St. Lucia Australia 4072 Email: he@physics.uq.oz.au >...................................................... >Life is like an onion: you peel off layer after layer, >then you find there is nothing in it. >------------------------------------------------------
