Hi
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on establishing a PPP connection
with linux. Using chat with pppd I was able to make a connection to my
ISP (GIL).
The command I use is:

pppd connect 'chat -v -f chat.ini' /dev/cua1 38400 debug crtscts modem
defaultroute

where chat.ini contains all the expect and send strings for dialing
and logging in.

(I had already compiled ppp into the kernal)

I have 2 questions, though.

1. Does anyone know how to encrypt the password for logging into the
ISP. Currently it is just stored in the script file for chat. (In
windows, trumpet winsock encrypts the password in the .ini file)

2. I have just downloaded Netscape for Linux and will try that soon.
Has anyone downloaded other internet software for linux? Is there any
available? Where from? I have checked out a few linux sites, but
haven't been able to find any internet software. ( got Netscape for
linux from the Netscape homepage)

Any help would be apreciated.
						Cheers
							Mark :-)
