ELF upgrade _was_ fairly straightforward -- just follow the HOWTO -- when we had gcc-2.7.0, libc-5.0.9 and binutils-whatever-the-version-was. Last I heard binaries of gcc-2.7.2 didn't have a.out support compiled in, when upgrading to libc-5.2.whatever you had to upgrade make, and I don't remember what there was about binutils. Why don't you upgrade to Redhat or soon-to-be-released ELF Debian? (especially considering the fact that the easiest way to upgrade Slackware is to reinstall it completely :) Dimitri
