Wrong, it does support tasking on suitable operating systems. So no, it isn't
supported on DOS but I believe it IS supported on Linux and OS/2, for example.

And so what if it's an interpreter? Seems fast enough to me, and since it's an
extension to gcc, you get to use all standard gnu programming tools to go with
it, like gdb instead of whatever debugger comes with your compiler.

The name is GNAT - GNU NewYorkUniversity Ada Translator. Your program IS
compiled (not interpreted), but the name implies it's translated to C first,
hence the use of gcc. Is this a problem?

On DOS this makes it much easier with pragma import and export, since the C and
Ada compilers are one and the same and hence share the same object format. (I
could be wrong but I believe gcc (djgpp) on DOS doesn't use the normal Intel
relocatable object format (.OBJ)). Does Meridian Ada support linking an .OBJ
from Borland C++ in?

Also, GNAT supports Ada95; how many commercial compilers are out with 95
support yet? I've used Meridian Ada for DOS, GNAT for OS/2, Linux and Solaris,
and DEC Ada on VMS, and GNAT is definately the best among these.
