That could mean almost anything.  How about telling us more, like the
kernel version, the gcc version, ELF or a.out, and maybe post the exact
error message and the file it failed on. For starters.

We (readers of this newsgroup) aren't being deliberately dense if you
don't get instant answers. Compiles normally go ok. It's not like
everybody has hit the problem you had.
