The Motif examples compile o.k. but don't link.

The error messages are:
hello.o(.text+0x3d): undefined reference to `XmStringCreateLocalised`
hello.o(.text+0x47): undefined reference to `_XmStrings`
hello.o(.text+0x4d): undefined reference to `xmPushButtonWidgetClass`
hello.o(.text+0x60): undefined reference to `XmStringFree`
hello.o(.text+0x6f): undefined reference to `_XmStrings`
make:***[hello] Error 1

The link command from the make file is:
gcc -o hello -O2 -m486 -ansi -L/usr/X11R6/lib hello.o -lXm -lXt -lX11 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/X11R6/lib

Has anyone experienced the same problem ?

versions:
Linux 1.2.13
XFree86-3.1.2
Moo-Tiff Aug 95 , OSF Motif 1.2
