Firstly check the PPP howto: http://sunsite.unc.edu/mdw/linux.hmtl The basics are: Make sure you installed all necessary networking software when you installed Linux. Make sure your kernel has PPP support (you should see reference to PPP when Linux Boots) Find out the login sequence of your server. ie. Login: or Username: Password: As root type $ /usr/sbin/pppd connect '/usr/sbin/chat -v "" ATDT5551234 CONNECT ""\ sername: yourname ssword: yourpasswd' /dev/modem 38400 -detach crtscts\ modem defaultroute noipdefault replacing: "5551224" with your dialup number "sername:" with "ogin:" if necessary. "yourname" with your username "yourpasswd" with your password the "noipdefault" is needed if you use dynamic ip assignment. good luck, Martin.
