Hi, I need a little advice: I have Linux running on an old 386.I am planning to buy a Pentium 90 or 100 so I can run X-Windows. I will be purchasing a PCI based Mother board and Video card as well as 32 MEG of RAM. I have a pentium 75 at work which is PCI based. However I have been unable to get Linux to work properly with this machine. So could someone out there who is successfully running LINUX on a pentium, tell me what motherboard, video card and BIOS I should try to get with my new machine. I don't want to spend $3-4 thousand and find that LINUX doesn't work with it. A lot of the information I have read seems to apply to American suppliers of hardware. However if the chips in the cards and boards are the same, it shouldn't really matter who I buy the components from. Or should I only be looking at certain manufacturers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Nigel. nigelfab@adam.com.au
