Instead of using TERM, use a program written by my friend Danny called
SLIRP..

It's a SLIP/PPP emualtor and does much more than term and every winsock
apps works with it...no need for special binary...
You can find more information on SLIRP at

http://blitzen.canberra.edu.au/slirp/

alternatively you can get a copy at

ftp://blitzen.canberra.edu.au/pub/slirp

or you can reach Danny at danjo@blitzen.canberra.edu.au

hope this little infor help you out :)
ps SLIRP works on all platform linux..win95..win3.1..os/2 etc...
