Not an ELF library file?????

Hello all,

I have just tried to run the ghostscript program...

I have the following linux... Slackware 1.2.3, GCC 2.6.3

This is the message I got...
	(Ozgur: ~)gs
/usr/lib/libXt.so.6 is not an ELF file
Unable to load shared library libXt.so.6
	Exit 12
	(Ozgur: ~)
The libXt.so.6 file is actually in /lib directory but the program
kept on saying that it couldn't find that file. So I created a link
from another directory that the program actually searched.

Anyway now I get the above message...

Few questions...
	- Is there anywhere I can get this file?
	- Better yet, is there a way I could install all of the
	  ELF libraries???
	- If the above is possible would it mean that I can't use a.out
	  anymore???
	- Infact what is the clearcut difference between ELF and a.out.???
