Hi all, I am a Linux newbie, however I have managed to get it running and working on a LAN with 2 PCs. My desire is to have a webserver running, so to this end I downloafded the NCSA server using the one-step downloader. I then ungziped the file through tar and was left with what looked like a web server directory structure. After configuring the conf files I excitedly typed in the command to run the binary. But what was this, I kept getting the message :httpd no such file or directory. This was wierd since ls -l would tell me that a file called httpd was indeed present. I changed the file permissions etc but to no avail. Has anyone had this type of problem ? Am I a complete idiot and have I overlooked some vital step ? Please help as I am being to lose faith in rational analysis Cheers Patrick http://www.cybermall.com.au
