Whilst I can't offer any hard data one way or the other, I've been around a fair while in Linux and I've never heard this one, and I can't think of a reason off the top of my head why it would be true. Furthermore I know several people who have both and nobody has complained yet. >What pitfalls are there, and what is the best card to use ? It is very dependent on what what bus you want to plug it into. If you have PCI and your motherboard has the SDMS bios on it (most do) then I'd probably recommend an ncr53c810 based board - I picked one up here at a computer swap meet for $90, including cable. Have a good read of the SCSI HOWTO, it's enlightening reading. - Mike
