Hi!
Very good question.
My wife got me the *Linux configuration and installation* which has the
Slackware CD in it.
The kernel is 1.2.8.
The book is for intermediate users, and me coming from DOS, I had jolly
good time trying to decifer the meanings.
It should be much easier for an UNIX animal.
But I got it performing to my needs after few sleepless nights.
You can get it at *Dymocks*.
If you are interested, drop me a notice with phone number and we can have
a verbatim chat.
I am in Sydney.
Stanislaw.
BTW I am connected to this group through *Linux* software which came with
the CD and it makes the Bitcom for Windows look like snail.
