I could really use a hand figuring out this problem My setup: Quantum 540M 1120Cyl 16Head 59Sectors: master Maxtor 850M 1654Cyl 16Head 63Sectors: slave Problem: When I install Linux and I run fdisk to create my partitions the program reports a hardrive geometry nothing like what is actually there. I've tried passing the hardrive parameters: ramdisk hd=cylinders,heads,sectors.... this doesn't work as fdisk now thinks my partitions are out of wack. I have a new AMI BIOS (win bios) for my 486DX2 66. It reports the above geometry when I check it. I have enabled LBA MODE.BLOCK MODE and 32 BIT ACCESSING. How do I get fdisk to report values corresponding to what my bios reports so I can install Linux.
