Doom on Slackware Linux Dist 3.0.0??

Hi everyone!

I need help! <grin>

I have installed Linux recently on my PC at home (found a spare 130Mb
HD and wacked it on). I downloaded the following disk sets from the
sunsite FTP site:

A
AP
N
Y

The Y set is the non X-based games, and Doom is one of the ones in the 4
disk set. However, when I try to run Doom it tells me that it can not
find the file libc.so.4 (or something to that effect). I checked the
/lib directory, and I have libc.so.5. This is most likely a later
version.

How do I get Doom to run with the newer lib file? Can I simply rename or
copy the new one to libc.so.4? Is the old file available somewhere?

Thanks a million for any help.
