I've been using Slackware 2.3 for some time now and I have just replaced my scsi adaptor to a buslogic 747s. The address that the default kernel supports is not one of the ones that I want to use, so I re-compiled the kernel (a task that I have done many times before) and I have found that my system refuses to boot. It gets to the LILO at the top of the screen, and I'm waiting for the ....... to appear but nothing happens, then the machine reboots (very strange!?) but if I boot the kernel of floppy the system starts up fine. Does any one know what I've done - it's most puzzling and I've got no ideas. Thanks. Matt. P.S. - could you please reply via Email, as I don't get too much chance to read news. matth@cse.rmit.edu.au -- ======================================================================= Matthew Hogan Phone: +61 3 9660 5365 Hardware Design Engineer Fax: +61 3 9660 5340
