Hi there,
Now this question has undoubtedly been answered time and time before, however I
cannot find any reference to it in the FAQ's , etc, etc.
We all know that Linux can support multiple monitors, however what are the
circumstances.
I want to run X on two monitors, one at say 1024x768 and the other at
1024x1024 or similar. Can I just plonk in two videocards with different
address spaces and tell linux where they are and have X displayed
simultaneously on both, or can I only
have one monitor with X and the other just as a terminal screen,
or some other combination?
[To be more specific I was wanting to have the lower res in colour and
the higher res in mono only, hence it should be fairly easy to
have a VGA card and a HERC card (i.e. different addresses I think)]
I don't want to invest in high performance monitors if one is
going to end up in text mode only.
Thanks
Andrew
