At least as much as XFree86 does. I hope the libsvga guys are
reading this :-) ...
: : Chances are, the DOSEMU guys will have Win3.11 support sooner than

: : Hell ... once the DOSEMU team gets full Win3.11 support, OS/2 will have

: quite a while.
Win3.11 starts up in DOSEMU, 'tho the Program Manager groups are
hosed (this is a common occurance that everybody who's tried it have
reported ... I have no idea why it does this ... not that bad 'tho, all
you gotta do is add them back in). And the mouse pointer is really jerky
(slowing down the mouse helps a bit ... OS/2 had this problem with full
screen Win-OS/2 sessions ... I forget the fix for it 'tho). And I was
able to run the Win3.11 applets like File Manager, Solitaire, and some
others. But real apps crashed it. However, I was impressed as to how
far I got with it. I was just expecting to be able to see the ProgMan
interface and that's it.
No doubt that DOSEMU will have Win3.11 support sooner than WINE.
Not to be offending to the WINE guys, but they're going awfully slow.
Well, not that slow considering that they're trying to implement the Win16
API from the ground up. But, all the DOSEMU people have to do is get MS
Windows 3.11 to run stable enough in the DOSEMU environment ... support
for the Win16 API is already there! So, DOSEMU is practically home.
WINE, OTOH, it seems, still has to get past first base.
It seems like by the time WINE has workable Win16 support, Win16
will be totally phased out. However, I read that Win32s support is also
planned for WINE (and maybe eventially Win32?). So that's a plus for the
WINE team. The DOSEMU solution is strictly limited to Win16. Well,
maybe the Win32s add on for OS/2 will work under DOSEMU? So maybe Win32s
is about as far as DOSEMU can go. WINE can go all the way. So in way,
DOSEMU and WINE aren't really competitors. DOSEMU will just give us
something to play with so we can let the WINE team go to work.
Which is fine by me. I don't even need Win32 support. I just
need to able to run the few Win16 programs that I have now.
