Best Linux distribution on CD-ROM?

Hi,
I have been a die hard Linux user for the past year or so. I started
with Slackware 2.0.0 and have done an infinite amount of upgrading to the
point that I myself don't know what packages are current or outdated. I
currently use kernel 1.2.3 and X11 3.1.1. The other day I finally got sick
of downloading the latest ELF utilities/libs that I decided to get a full
version on CD-ROM. I didn't have a CD drive so I went out and bought a
562-J. Installation under Linux proved to be surprising simple.

What I would like to know is what is the best CD-TOM Linux package
available here in Australia(Brisbane) for me to purchase. My system is
mostly a.out and I read somewhere that Slackware 3.0 is full ELF.
Will I have to replace everything to ELF?

Will I have to upgrade to a new kernel version?
I really would like to avoid this as I have hand patched this kernel to
suit my particular system. Don't want to go through that again......

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Tony
