OK, here's the story... My system is a DX2-66 (Zeos Martin M/B), 8MB, VESA IDE on board. The HD is a Samsung 1.2 GB (hey, it was cheap!). 2466 cyl, 16hd, 63 sect. The BIOS only recognizes 2048/16/63. No problem, as OS/2 and Linux both recognize the rest. Partitioned it with one for Boot Loader (1MB), one for OS/2 (503 MB - the most OS/2 FDISK will recognize and let me add to the Boot Loader menu), one for Linux (670 MB) and one for the swap file (40MB). It all RUNS ok... ..but I have to boot Linux from a floppy. OS/2 won't let me add the Linux partition to the boot loader. I tried an earlier configuration with LILO written to the MBR, and got nowhere - L followed by neverending zeroes. I've tried various partition configurations, various permutations of LILO setups, etc... and have gotten nowhere. OS/2 boots fine from the HD, Linux runs fine from the floppy... but Linux won't boot from the floppy. Anyone have any ideas that don't involve a new BIOS or motherboard & EIDE controller? Thanks, Jim 8-)
