Hmm - easier? Depends. I have always found it a pain to put the `To'
and `From' addresses at their proper positions in word processors.

I have found it even more difficult to explain to users why they
should *not* press the tab or space button to get the `From' address
right-justified. Or get something centered. I have spent endless hours
fixing those things when the margins were changed. Or when the
document should be printed on another printer (with different
fonts). Sigh. The word processors I have used just does not address
these problems properly.

A simple letter in LaTeX. Note the use of \address{...}, \opening{...}
and \closing{...}. Easy to remember, and things end up where they are
suppposed to for a nice-looking letter.

\documentclass{letter}
\addres{Me\\
  Somewhere}
\begin{document}
\begin{letter}{Someone\\
  Somewhere Else}

  \opening{Dear Someone}

  blablablabla.

  \closing{Regards,\\
    Me}
\end{letter}
\end{document}

Jacob.
