HELP! Linux install....

I am trying to install the Slackware distribution Linux and connot even
create a bootable BOOT disk (bare.gz) on my computer with RAWRITE.EXE.
Rawrite seems to work OK but the system hangs when accessing the floppy
at boot. I have tried it on other computers with 100% success, but even
using other controller cards and floppy cards will not fix the problem.

486DX33(intel)
American Megatrends BIOS 7/7/91
Trident TVGA8900c 1M video
528M Seagate IDE (unsure about controller)
Soundblaster mono

I have had no problems installing other software (well..none that I can
blame my PC for)including warp. I tried creating the Boot/Root images on
other PC's and booting got as far as the the following two lines after
the LILO prompt.
tty001 com1 ....is at 16450
tty002 com2 ....(at this point my PC reboots itself and so on .....)

I think that I can rule out most of my hardware as the problem, I've
never had irq problems before either (it's a pretty simple system), Could
my BIOS be incompatable?

I am very eager to install Linux and would greatly appreciate any help.

yours,

BC
