My pppd is consistently failing with ioctl (PPPIOCSINPSIG): Invalid argument whatever I do (then dropping carrier, causing the local modem to hang up). Increasing the kdebug level doesn't give me any more information. I am running the same distribution of pppd (2.1.2) at both ends, one Linux and one SunOS 4.1.3. I have tried using the Linux kernel drivers provided in that package in lieu of existing kernel drivers (although both claim to be 0.2.7, diffs suggest the latter drivers are newer), but the result is the same. My local options file currently resembles: /dev/cua1 2400 crtscts modem lock netmask 255.255.255.0 mru 552 defaultroute debug kdebug 2 I have tried both a chat-based login and a manual cu login (using ~z after starting remote pppd, then starting local pppd (without 'lock' in the options file)), and am convinced the remote pppd is behaving properly - it works fine under Winsock, from the same PC. The remote pppd log just mentions sudden loss of carrier. - Baffled and .sigless
