HELP: linux ihhd - anyone got it to work?

I recently downloaded the linux version of the Internet Head-to-Head
Daemon, but I can't get it to work.

I can connect with other people and type stuff to them but as soon
as I exit the comms software to DOS and run a null modem game,
IHHD seems to crash (I have been told this by the other party - I
can't see for myself as I've only got the one terminal). I'm pretty
sure this is what happens as when I reenter the comms package, if
it hasn't hung, the shell prompt is back.  Baud rate
and comms port selection of the game software seems to be correct.

Any ideas?
