hello, i'm heejoon. I've installed Linux & made a successful slip connection. Now my problem is that i want to run a ftp server. Well,I think i'm almost done. Here's what happens. First, i dial-up the dynamic slip server at my school. Then, i'll get the dynamic slip for that session. With that slip connection(for ex.128.174.24.5),i can log onto other hosts that i have a valid account(for ex. fleur.uiuc.edu). Now,then, from my linux box , i log on to fleur.uiuc.edu ex) % telnet fleur.uiuc.edu now i'm in fleur.uiuc.edu ok...now i want to check whether my ftp server works or not by typing fleur>ftp 128.174.24.5(slip account given for this particular session) well, this works fine.I had no problem with the connection. but, whenever the anonymous users in my ftp server issue commands like 'dir' or 'ls' it displays nothing even though there is for sure something!!!! for ex. -------------------------------------- ftp> cd incoming 250 CWD command successful. ftp> dir 200 PORT command successful. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.#there are some 226 Transfer complete. #files here but, ftp> #it isn't displayed!! --------------------------------------- why is it that the contents of the dir. isn't displayed even though the anonymous user issued the 'ls' or 'dir' command?? what is it that i have to do to fix it??? so that the files will be displayed properly ????!!!! please email hjp3@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu any help will be greatly appreciated! happy computing, heejoon.
