G'day,

I have come across this very annoying problem with term (it occurs with both
versions 1.0.8 and 1.11).

Here's the situation:
                                                  +--- connections
  +---+ phone line +---+ | from
  |   | *============================* |   |  <---+---  other
  +---+ +---+ | machines via
  /---\ /---\ +--- telnet
  linux sun
(slackware (sunos)
  1.1.0)

1. Dial up sun using kermit.

                               2. log in and type: term -l /tmp/term.log

3. Type CTL-\ C and then CTL-Z to put kermit into the bkg. Now
type "net" (which is aliased to "term </dev/modem > /dev/modem 2> /dev/null &")

4. Now type: trsh, to get a shell on the sun.

                               5. Type: tredir 4321 23

                                                   6. A remote user logs into
                                                   my machine by using:
                                                   telnet sun 4321

The remote user(s) can log in/log out fine, BUT if they do a CTL-C, CTL-D,
or CTL-Z, (eg. to quit a talk session) term on my linux end quits
with the exit status "Possible I/O" - whatever that means? The term
on the other end remains but trys endlessly to chat with a now non-existent
term processes. All of the connections (both ways) of course die.

I'm currently escaping/ignoring these chars: 1, 3, 15, 17, 19, 25, 26,
28, 29, 126, 145, and 147.

Has anyone had this problem?? Is there a soloution?

thanks in advance - see ya - oke
