I've been trying to connect my linux box (Slackware + Kernel0.99pl14u)
to a SLIP server, by following the instructions in the NET-2-HOWTO.
I can establish a connection to the slip server and ping its IP address
with no problems, but attempts to connect to any other service tells
me NETWORK UNREACHABLE.   

Is there something I'm missing; do I need to update some software?

**FUNNY THING IS** a few months ago (back when I had sls 1.01) I borrowed
a modem and connected to a friend's SLIP account with no problems, but
now that same modem and account (I borrowed them back to see if it was my
hardware that was zonked) gives exactly the same behaviour.

If anybody could suggest a solution (or some docs that suggest it) I'd be
grateful.  (p.s. how about a tutorial on named, too?)
