How long are you with computers? It must be a short time if you don't
remember the "year 2000 scare".
The European DD/MM/XXyy AND American(British) MM/DD/XXyy dates formats
are NOT for calculating machines = read computers. That resulted in
104 years old lady receiving request to enroll in kindergarten and
other mistakes.
So the date in format YYYY/MM/DD solves it once and for all, dates can
cross centuries boundaries and present themselves in sequence. How to
translate it into human "language", depends on programm abilities and
your expertise of configuring this programm to do it.
