Linux Questions is a good source for linux related issues , there are 
discussion forums , tutorials , a search facility and a hardware 
compatibility list.

The people in the discussion forums are quite good and knowledgeable and you 
can generally get most problems fixed by posting a problem.
As for not being able to find a solution to a problem , I think most linux 
users have been there and done that and know what it is like trying to 
resolve a linux issue.

In the past there has been a few times when  it has taken me up to a week to 
fix a problem in linux because of  lack of documentation or some obscure 
hardware/software related issue.
