Some are more equal than others. My recently purchased (and returned to seller) HP Deskjet was a modest-sized box that fitted easily onto a desk - as its name suggests. Although it uses toner cartridges - much larger in physical size than the cartridges on "inkjet" printers - the (introductory) toner cartridge claimed (on the packaging) to be able to print 700 pages (5% coverage with ink). Replacement cartridges print 1500 pages - 300 dpi. HP recommended to not-use the "draft" print option because the cartridge would wear out before all the toner has been used.
