Portable Ubuntu again

I have downloaded and run the latest Portable Ubuntu remix which I take
to be based on Ubuntu 9.04. When I go to "System/About Ubuntu" the
message shows the version as 8.04. How can I find out which version I
have. I have posted this message on the Portable Ubuntu Forum but so far
I have not received a reply.

Try this command in a Terminal:

   cat /etc/issue

And what was the full name of the file you downloaded and ran?

Hi Phil, thanks for your reply.

"Portable Ubuntu Remix" is a version that is installed on and runs from
a thumb drive plugged into any Windows machine and runs on a Windows
desktop, not dual boot or virtual machine.
It is portable in as the thumb drive can be taken with you and used
where ever you are in any Windows machine.

Your above links lead to websites about the standard Ubuntu o/s.
