Performed the routine package update on my debian lenny boxen and gain this little piece of crappy bloatware; xulrunner-1.9. Seems i can not run iceweasel without this crap running as well. Can anyon remember the location of the aptitude Recommnds:False setting. I want to see if I can get iceweasel back, otherwise, it is time to give firefox the flicken.

What browsers does it provided? From what I understand, this is going to infest everything from Mozilla, so it looks like firefox(ideweasel), thunderbird and all their other crud is going down with it.

Windows is just the same with all this crud in the background and it still suffers from the "lets shuffle everything around" joke. Naaah, the only reason to run windows is for excellent games. connect windows to the internet, hhahahahahahahahaha

That is the problem, PIII@450-512MB is/was my Linux boxen, but I had to avoidplaces like http://www.smh.com.au or it dragged and ground. Swapped it to a dual PIII@500-512Mb which handles nicely. Anything bigger is almost a year off. Linux might be free, but the hardware to run it isn't.

XUL is an engine/framework that reads XML files that define all the GUI elements you see such as menus and dialog boxes. https://developer.mozilla.org/En/XUL Like anything to do with XML, it's slow bloated crap. Firefox is only tolerable on my fast pc. > Can anyon remember the location of the aptitude Recommnds:False setting. > I want to see if I can get iceweasel back, otherwise, it is time to give > firefox the flicken. ls -l /var/cache/apt/archives/iceweasel* ... /var/cache/apt/archives/iceweasel_3.0.14-1_i386.deb # dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/iceweasel_3.0.14-1_i386.deb
