Hi all,
community radio and linux would have seemed to be a natural pairing.
Open source, and open access...
However, the start of this discussion tells a different story..

Yeah, interesting. Sort of. Just because nobody's posted about it in
that thread, doesn't mean there's no linux systems in community radio
stations in Australia. I personally know of a good half a dozen
community stations that have got Linux running on at least one system.

I was part of the sysadmin team at 4ZZZ for several years in the late
90s and early 00s - and we ran a lot of Linux. They started off with Sco
Unix, but we changed over to Linux in about 96, as far as i remember.

4ZZZ was probably the one I always thought of when this discussion
came up!
2UNE/TUNE FM in Armidale borrowed heavily from the linux knowledge
from 4ZZZ. You guys were the 'big guns' of open source back then for
the CBAA.

I am interested to see things like Campcaster and Rivendell build a
network of knowledge sharing.
Just about to start trialling ubuntustudio as production studio
alternative.

Suggestions of what other stations there are, please - let me know!
