MS WORKS uses a formula system which starts with "=". I have been told that this relates to Lotus 1-2-3 (now run by IBM). Is this true, or is the macro system used by Microsoft purely its own invention? WORKS uses EasyCalc, but I'd prefer to run my own macros completely from scratch; maybe this is not possible. WORKS has its own Calendar-generating method, which is useful if you want to create your own wall calendar, with each month of the year - or even a "blank" monthly calendar which can be used for any year. You can copy/paste the official calendar into a spreadsheet, then edit the formulae to suit your own requirements. (Remember that ANY month can only start on one of the days of the week, and must end within a 31-day range.)

Came across a useful little book, about 63 pages; well laid out, with instructions and pix - use it while in front of your computer. Title: "WORD: The Basics+" by Tim Tuck & Andrew Clucas. Pascal Press, NSW. Page 51 on Macros - this enlightened me considerably as to how to create, run, and access a macro (by making a toolbar icon). In Series: "Blake's GOGUIDES". Aust.$9.95. My copy from Reader's Feast. PS. In the process of Editing a macro you can see the whole program - or at least the relevant sub-routine. ===========================
