I installed Warp 4.52 over the top of my Warp 4.51 desktop without any
problems. At the end of the install, I did not have to reinstall any
apps or hardware. The Warp 4.52 installer even recognized that my java
1.3.1 was more recent than the java that came with Warp 4.52 and left it
in place. My installed printers were left in the 'printers' folder of
the 'previous desktop' folder. To bring them over to Warp 4.52, I had
to drag each of them (the printer object, that is) into the new
'printers' folder in the 'connections' folder. The only thing that the
Warp 4.52 installer messed up on was that it downleveled a couple of my
newer USB drivers (audio and MSD). Other than that, it did a perfect job.

I did the install by booting directly from the CD-ROM and then
installing onto the same drive that Warp 4.51 had been installed on. (I
had a complete backup of the drive.) The installer correctly selected
the Warp 4.51 drive as its target and gave me the option of formatting
the drive but recommended that I not do so. The entire install took
about 30 minutes.
