News servers attacked?

   The server from which this is posted is playing up again the 2nd time 
in as many months.  Of course I have complained to the ISP but I'm 
wondering...

   Symptom are that certain postings do not appear on it but still make 
there way to other servers on the internet - e.g. Googles and Jack 
Troughton's (new.consultron.ca).  If this problem is persisting at the 
moments I post this it will not appear on new.syd.connect.net.au 
(available only to AAPT customers).  The problem seems to be present 
only on the OS/2 news groups.  For example aus.computers.linux and 
aus.adsforsale.computers.used don't seem affected.

   Can news servers be hacked/crippled by a virus or some other sort of 
attack - by someone opposed to OS/2?  Paranoia?

   What do people think or know?
