I created the Linux : partitions from the OS/2 Boot Manager as suggested by the Slackware : install program. Boot manager sees the Linux partition as bootable and : type 83 so what's the drama. Boot manager can boot Linux, (if LILO is in the boot sector of the Linux partition) just fine. It just thinks it can't. Hmm.. The way I did it is before I installed Linux, I formatted the partition as FAT, and added it to the BM, then installed Linux and everything was happy. To do it without nuking your install you could try: 1) Using Linux fdisk to mark the partition type as FAT / HPFS / something else OS/2 knows about. Then try adding it to BM. Linux will still work fine with the partition type set wrong, but you should probably change it back later. 2) If this doesn't work - probably since OS/2 checks a bit harder to see if the partition is formatted, you could try using dd to zap a boot sector of a dos FAT partition onto the boot sector of the Linux partition. Also change the partition type to FAT/whatever. Then try adding it to BM. Finally restore the boot sector of the Linux partition by installing LILO in it. Hope one of these works. -- David Gibson @ The Lorax | New from Microsoft... david%brucehall20@anu.edu.au | THNEED 95 | Which everyone, Everyone, EVERYONE needs.
