ACS NSW AISIG - Artificial Intelligence - Monthly Meeting

Date: Wednesday 24th November 1999.

Time: 6:30pm till 8:00pm & dinner.

Topic: The Next Revolution

Theme: Our society is described as post-industrial, ie, it is later than
the Industrial Revolution, and we can think of ourselves as
in
the Electronic or Information Revolution although we cannot
see
what defines that societal or economic change which
identifies
it to history, like the Industrial and Agrian Revolutions.

So what do you see as that next change or what might describe the
aftermath. Will robots replace human workers? Do we
redefine
and manipulate our own shape and function? Maybe nothing
will
happen at all. We have seen books and reports forecasting
the
future, are they right, or horribly wrong?
