CALL FOR PAPERS PARALLEL AND DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING PRACTICES published by NOVA Science Publishers http://orca.st.usm.edu/pdcp The area of parallel and distributed computing has reached a point where new issues and trends require a professional forum. PDCP will publish original refereed papers that address algorithm development, implementation and execution on real-world parallel architectures, application of parallel and distributed computing to the solution of real-life problems. In addition, a clearly developing trend suggests that the future of computing will have a parallel and/or distributed form. PDCP will address the future of computing (for more details, please consult the WWW pages). Taking into account the extremely rapid pace of changes in the field, PDCP is committed to fast turnaround of papers and a short publication time of accepted papers. The first issue will appear in January 1998. The journal will publish three types of papers: a) OVERVIEW PAPERS summarize historical developments, state of the art and current research directions of selected subfields of parallel and distributed computing. There is no a priori length restriction. The papers should be submitted to the editor-in-chief. b) RESEARCH PAPERS are limited to approximately 20 pages. They should be submitted to the member of the Editorial Board whose research interests match the subject of the paper (the research interests of the EB members can be found on the journal WWW site). c) SHORT NOTES are not to exceed 5 pages. They should be submitted to the editor-in-chief. Substantially revised versions of papers published in not easily accessible conference proceedings and technical reports can be submitted. In such a case, the editor-in-chief should be notified at the time of submission and the author is responsible for obtaining the necessary copyright releases for all copyrighted material.) Each paper appropriate to the journal will be refereed by a minimum of two referees. Authors of accepted papers will be required to prepare them in LaTeX using the journal style-file. We would also like to invite organizers of conferences/workshops of potential interest to the PDCP readers to submit calls for papers for their events. Please contact the editor-in-chief about the details.
