**** PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT ****
The Fifth Australasian Conference on Parallel and Real-Time Systems
(PART'98) will be held in Adelaide, South Australia, 28th-29th
September 1998.
The aim of this conference is to bring together Australasian and
International researchers actively involved in research on parallel
and real-time systems. The conference strives for a workshop-like
atmosphere in order to provide the opportunity for creative
discussions.
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that demonstrate original
unpublished research in all areas of parallel and real-time systems. Topics
of interest include, but will not be limited to:
Parallel architectures and algorithms Parallel programming
Performance analysis and modelling Mobile computing
Network-based concurrent computing Parallel databases
Parallel I/O systems VLSI systems
Heterogeneous computing Multimedia systems
Distributed operating systems Message Passing Systems
Real-time languages and tools Fault-tolerant computing
Real-time aspects of distributed systems Real-time scheduling
AI and neural networks in real-time control Reconfigurable Computing
A formal call for papers will follow soon. It will include paper
submission deadlines, advice of Special Sessions and Tutorials, and
full program and organizing committee listings. The deadline for
submitting papers is expected to be in MArch-April 1998.
Proceedings of PART'97 were published by Springer Verlag. We expect
the Proceedings of PART'98 to appear as a volume of the
internationally recognized series "Lecture Notes in Computer Science".
Papers must be submitted according to Springer guidelines; full
details will be given in the forthcoming CFP.
The conference will be held at the University of Adelaide. It will
include a program of social events, and opportunities to visit the
