Bau eines Peripherieger�tes / construction of a peripheral device

Ich m�chte ein Ger�t f�r den Anschlu� an die parallele Schnittstelle bauen.
Dieses Ger�t soll mindestens 5 Taster und ein LCD (ca. 10-20 Buchstaben)
beinhalten.
Dies wirft 2 Probleme auf:

1) Entwurf & Bau der Hardware
2) Entwurf der Steuerungssoftware

Mehrere Varianten:
- ohne Display
- mit IR-Koppelung

wer kann mir dabei durch Informationen helfen?
gibt es bereits so etwas?
welche Bauteile werde ich daf�r brauchen?
irgendwelche hilfreiche Homepages?
irgendwelche hilfreiche Newsgroups?
m�chte jemand das Projekt gemeinsam mit mir durchf�hren? (ausschlie�lich
Wien + Umgebung)

I want to build a device witch can be connected to the printer port. This
device should have at least 5 buttons and a LCD (aprox. 10 to 20 letters).
That involves two major problems:

1) hardware design & assembling
2) controlling software design & programming

possible variations:
- without display
- with additional IR-interface

who can provide information about this topic?
has someone already built something like this?
which componets am I going to need?
do you know any helpfull homepages?
