--------------F68868CF6629056ED59FDE64 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Is there anyone having experience with BSPLib on Clusters of Workstations? I installed BSPLib v1.4 for both shared memory (SHMEM_SYSV) and clusters of workstations (MPASS_TCPIP) on a Sun Ultra-2 running Solaris 5.6. Then I run the example programs coming with the package for testing purposes. The shared memory version run without any problems. But I had some problems with the NOW version. When I run eg. the "helloworld" program on two processors, I got an error message: >>coffeepot bsplib_progs $ bsprun -npes 2 helloworld >> >>BSP/TCP Library(dishwasher.cs.rpi.edu): error in setsockopt(SO_SNDLOWAT)1 >>call (result = -1, errno = 99). >>BSP/NOW Master: Abort received from BSP pid 1 (code = 2). Even with single processor, NOW version of BSPlib caused a problem. It gives the correct output but it does not halt: >>coffeepot bsplib_progs $ bsprun -npes 1 helloworld >>Hello BSP Worldwide from process 0 of 1 >>yy And the "yy" at the end of the output is a questionmark... (looks like some kind of memory violation...) I am doing research on "Harvesting idle processor cycles on nondedicated Network of Workstations", and want to use BSPlib for implementation. I would be very pleased if you would help me in solving these problems. Thank you very much. -Tevfik ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TEVFIK KOSAR Office: Amos Eaton 205 Dept. of Computer Science Phone : +1(518)273-5742 (Home) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute email : tevfik.kosar@computer.org Troy, NY 12180 URL : http://www.rpi.edu/~kosart ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------F68868CF6629056ED59FDE64 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Is there anyone having experience with BSPLib on Clusters of Workstations?
I installed BSPLib v1.4 for both shared memory (SHMEM_SYSV) and clusters
of workstations (MPASS_TCPIP) on a Sun Ultra-2 running Solaris 5.6.
Then I run the example programs coming with the package for testing
purposes.
