    I am trying to set up a Linux cluster with 8 nodes to run MPI programs
with MPICH. I want to make sure my MPI programs can run on one node before
extending to 8 nodes. Now I cannot even run any MPI program on one node. I
assume I installed MPICH V1.2.5 successfuly on this node because I have no
error messages during "make" and "make install". Also I can use mpicc to
compile either my program or a sample program without any error message.
However, I always get the following error message when I use mpirun to run
any program, including a sample program. This message was from running the
sample program cpi with the command "mpirun -np 2 cpi".

Job 1 aborted with code 0 by process 1
unable to execute program: cpi
[man_0]: application program exited abnormally with status 0
[man_0]: application program signalled with signal 2 (:Interrupt)

What is wrong? Please help!!!

I ran the program on a Intel PC with Red Hat Linux V8. MPICH is V1.2.5. I
use p4_chmpd device. I always manage to start mpd daemons before running.
