connection pc laptop via paralel cable

Hi there,

I thought i'd connect my laptop to my pc so that i don't have to transfer
loads of diskets every time i go away for a meetin and need those documents
of my pc.

So i went into the START - Program files - accessories - communications and
established the direct cable connection: the host computer on my PC, and the
guest computer being my lap top.

So i launch my PC as a host - and it listens to the guest computer trying to
get a connection via the paralel port (LPT1) but the lap top in guest mode,
finds a connection, checks username and pw, but then asks me for the name of
the host computer.

In the configuration panel - network - identification tab I have given the
name 'pc' to my pc and 'home' to work group. So i enter these when the
following box pops up on the laptop trying to get in as a guest computer
'The direct cable connection cannot find the shared folders on the host
computer. type the name of the host computer to show the shared folders:
enter host computer name' , it doesn't work.

Anyone have an idea on how to find the name i should fill in there.

Of course on my PC i have double clicked 'my documents' and shared it
(complete access, no paswords...). So why can't it find it. Thanx if anyone
could shed some light in the dark for me.

Greetz,
