Sydney University run a range of short (full fee) courses through the
Basser Dept of Comp Sc. I did the Java course and was pretty impressed
- the lecturer new what he was talking about and the facilities were
pretty good. The fees are not outrageous compared to private training
companies. In theory the Java course did not make any assumptions about
previous skills, but you would certainly get a lot more out of it if you
have basic C.

See http://www.cs.su.oz.au/BIT/ for courses and schedules. They run Java
and C++ courses, didn't see any Perl though.
