Something else I might try is putting the disks into a Sparc 20 system (after suitably modifying the boot sector and setting up /etc/path_to_inst so a -r reboot can set up devices appropriately) and see what happens. I'd use the Solaris 5.8 version of Magma's Sbus driver without a problem in the past with an SS20 as the base hardware when I had a box running Solaris 8. Solaris 9 should still run on an SS20 and that hardware platform has always been very reliable - just a bit on the slow side compared to Ultra's. Craig. -- Post by Craig Dewick (tm).
